March 2016
I can see you are working towards your project ably enough Josh, but I am concerned at the speed with which it is progressing. As part of a group, you must ensure that you both have equal responsibility for the work- that way, you will be in a better position to work independently even when the other is not available. Remember to pair everything you do to the codes and conventions of documentary Genre theory; try to use titles effectively (use PNG files, not the templates on offer) to be original and float them over your footage.
Comment on the Comment you left me
I wholly agree with what has been said here, I will work hard to input and work with what has been said. As of today we have got some of the final pieces of footage left which is always nice. We are working hard to edit the work and I will proceed to start on making our poster.
February 2016
Josh I am extremely concerned that despite having finally settled on your concept, very little is happening. You must get your footage imported; editting will take a lot longer than you are giving yourself. Even without your footage, where are your storyboards? Where is the shooting schedule? you are leaving yourself a mountain to climb.
My comments of the comments which you commented
February was a very slow month for us, however we have caught up this month following a growth in ideas for footage and story line. I will start putting up my story boards and the shoot schedule, I will work to climb the proverbial mountain.
January 2016
Josh I am pleased that you have abandoned the football idea in favour of the gaming concept, but you must ensure that you are using Todorov's theory of narrative to provide some substance to the arc of the documentary. It will not be enough to just listen to interviews from computer gamers- instead, think where your questions might lead them. What angle are you looking for here? Is there a way to focus on an aspect within the concept- i.e the documenary turns out not to be about gaming at all, but instead relationships between gamers, or thier families etc- this requires extra consideration. Where will you documentary fit in its already existing genre?
Comments to comment on for this month
I agree, i feel the football idea would have been a very slow, no-brainer style documentary and there wasn't really any room to develop a story line. We are currently trying to work on the extended narrative for gaming and we are coming along quite nicely.I will consider the comments made over the next month and hopefully bring some light to them.
Blog Overview
Josh your blog is looking good- well done. I am expecially pleased with the level of independent research you are posting about; I am delighted to see that you are using exemplars offered and identifying your own examples of similar techniques. Please ensure that, as you create your coursework, you continue to keep your blog fully abreast of all the decisions you are making, why and how they effect your piece in comparison to current existing productions.
